ROOTED IN NAMIBIA · HAND-CRAFTED IN THE CAPE
Nuiba begins on a farm in Namibia, where winemaker Suzanne Coetzee grew up. Its name carries the memory of home, and its wines carry that story to the table.
For Suzanne, Nuiba is more than a word on a label. It is the Namibian farm where she grew up and found who she is. The rhythms of farm life, gratitude for rain and an appreciation for what is fresh and available remain part of her story.
Today, those roots connect with her winemaking in the Cape. Each bottle is an invitation to discover the place, the people and the memories behind Nuiba.
On the family farm, a post was a cattle kraal built where the four corners of grazing camps came together. Cattle could enter from any of the surrounding camps. The farmer could move them between camps and count them at the same time, while the post also provided a place for feeding and drinking water.
The farm had six posts, each known by its number. Suzanne named her wines after them, numbering the wines in the order they were first released.
A post brings a farm together. Wine brings people together—especially around a meal.
Suzanne’s approach is to preserve the primary grape flavours and interfere as little as possible during winemaking. The character of the fruit comes first, with careful pressing and barrel ageing used to build texture and complexity.
The collection draws on Stellenbosch and Piekenierskloof: fresh white blends and rosé alongside expressive reds. Each wine has its own story, shaped by its grapes, origin and time in the cellar.
